SOCCER CARDS
client: T-Mobile CZ
The client´s idea was to have lifestyle or fashion, out-of-sports photographs of the players of Czech national football team on their cards, a giveaway merchandise for Euro 2012, as T-Mobile was the team´s general partner.
Jan Tauber, who is the team´s field photographer and I opted for colorful, energized style where a photograph is overlayed or merged into a scan of a dynamic acrylic paint.
I created abstract painted backgrounds to scan.
Then I played around with first designs, using random models from the internet as a stand-in and getting to clearer idea together with the client.
PHOTOSHOOT
Then the actual photoshoot happened!
Jan Tauber was the photographer, I was his assistant and a stylist to the models - our best football players.
MANY VERSIONS OF EVERYTHING
At this point the process was to try many compositions, find the right approach and select with the client, what we liked best.
There was emphasis on the hot pink accent, as it is the client´s brand color.
FINAL CARDS
The painted design from the front repeats on the backside of each card as a background for a field picture of the players and shines through the graphic.
